John enjoys a wide range of music and looks to use broad mix of styles within the choirís repertoire, ensuring there is a distinctive edge to the choirís performances. As there is a lack of available male voice arrangements of modern songs, most of the choirís repertoire list has been arranged by John.

With a love of musical theatre, John has composed number of shows, two of which have been published and are now performed around the world; 'All 4 One' (Josef Weinberger), which tells the story of The Man in the Iron Mask, received its US Premiere in May 2008, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Samuel French). This popular show has now been rewritten as a standard musical (as opposed to a sung through piece) with many new songs included.

At the end of 2009 John was approached to co-write the main song (Let Hell Sing) for a new musical, HellSing, with Colin Charles. This show is being developed for a West End run.

John works with many soloists from Londonís top musicals, to develop new recordings and performance opportunities.

Many of John's choral arrangements are sung by the choir, which have helped to expand audiences and encourage new members into the mystic world of Male Voice Choirs. Other choirs across the UK are now showing considerable interest in using these songs as they help develop and sustain their choirs in a similar way. The most notable is the famous Morristonís Phoenix Choir who have added John's arrangement of Angels to their concert repertoire.

Johnís arrangement of Rule the World featured as the finale for Brentwood Councilís 2008 Alchemy project, where it was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and 350 singers.

In addition to being the Director of Music for The South Woodham Ferrers Male Voice Choir, John was the resident Musical Director for Brentwood Theatre for 8 years, and created music and orchestrations for 8 Christmas shows. For James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr Fox and The Twits he composed new scores which are available to hire. The Great Sleigh Robbery, a piece written especially for Brentwood Theatre, is also in further development for future productions.

John is in considerable demand as a sound engineer for many shows and concerts. This extends to recordings for choirs, orchestras and solo singers. He has worked on CD recordings of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and won the prize for Best Sound for his sound design and mixing of We Will Rock You at the 2007 Waterford Festival of Light Opera, Ireland

Could It Be Magic
           - our latest CD
Clare studied music at Royal Holloway University. After leaving, it was a number of years before she became involved with accompanying local choirs and amateur dramatic societies.

This has led to her undertaking the role of musical director for several local groups including Thurrock Thameside Musical Society, Basildon Operatic Society, Solomon Artistes, Benfleet Operatic Society, Arts Factory, BLED Productions and Two Faced Productions.

Her favourite shows as MD include Copacabana, West Side Story, Honk, A Slice of Saturday Night, Summer Holiday and Fame. She is currently working with Basop on Annie - Towngate Theatre, Basildon in May; Solomon Artistes on High School Musical - Palace Theatre, Westcliff in May and TTMS on Little Shop of Horrors - Thameside Theatre, Grays in July.

Clare is an accomplished pianist, rehearsing with and accompanying groups such as Leigh Operatic, Little Theatre Club and Thurrock Male Voice Choir. This involves numerous shows, concerts and charity events. Clare joined as the accompanist to Men2Sing in May 2009.

His interest in Male Voice Choirs began in Secondary School and has continued ever since. In his first teaching job in Kent he formed and conducted a Male Voice Group from the boys and staff.

He has deputised for each of the Conductors of the SWFMVC since it was formed. The only time the choir won its own SWF Male Voice Choir Festival in 1991, it was John who conducted them.

After a break John rejoined the choir in September 2008 and is now thoroughly enjoying the current repertoire, especially the arrangements of pop classics that John Trent Wallace has introduced with backing tracks.

Our music repetoire is regularly updated by the introduction of new pieces, new arrangements, and by revival of pieces from our back-repertoire.
After spending his formative years at the Redbridge Music School, Mike attended the Royal College of Music where he gained qualifications in both classroom and piano teaching. He now has extensive experience of running music departments in schools across Essex, where he has organised concerts and choir tours as well as directed music for shows including, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys & Dolls, Oliver and The Wiz.

Mike is currently Head of Music at the Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls in Romford and when not busy in this role, he also plays for a local dance company and teaches piano from his home in Chelmsford. When not busy at the piano, Mike also is also a bass player and drummer and he enjoys writing and arranging music for school choirs and bands.
