The choir decided in early 2008 that a more informal on-stage dress style (open-necked black shirt and black trousers) be adopted in keeping with the times and reflecting the transformation being made to the style and substance of our music.

The choir's original on-stage dress style (maroon blazer with the choir logo on the breast pocket, a white shirt with black bow tie and black trousers) had been unchanged since the choir's inception and had served the choir well, the blazer in particular seemingly indestructable, but the style was becoming outdated and was in need of update.

2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the South Woodham Ferrers Male Voice Choir.

We shall be celebrating in style with a full programme of concerts throughout the year, including:-

- a concert in Chelmsford Cathedral on February 7th, 2009 in aid of local charities, and

- a special 30th Annual anniversary Concert on Saturday March, 2009 at the Village Hall in South Woodham Ferrers.
